The modern commodity markets have their roots in the trading of agricultural products. Going back to past, there were times when products were exchanged between people and barter trading used to take place. The old trend is modified to commodities trading, being regulated on commodities exchange, where they are bought and sold in standardized contracts.

National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange( NCDEX).
Mumbai and National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE) , Ahmedabad.
